LITERARY CIRCLES and ORAL REPORT GUIDELINES

Literary Circles
Students will be assigned groups.
Each group will be reading a different novel. The novel list includes “The Giver”, “Hatchet”, “Walk Two Moons”, and “Nothing But the Truth”, and “Roll of Thunder”. Each literary circle will read the book in class and complete daily worksheets pertaining to the novel’s plot, characters, theme, etc.
Each group member is expected to participate in the daily lesson. Students will be tested at the end of the unit. NOVEL TESTS ON WEDNESDAY 14th.
TRAVEL REPORT
Language Arts and Social Studies Project
Oral Presentation
Imagine you are a travel agent or person from a particular area of choice. Try to get your audience interested in taking a trip to your selected location. Be creative, descriptive, and original.
Requirements:
1) Brochure-tri-fold style (poster board size) / must include ALL of the items listed below. Be sure to include 5 or more pictures.
2) Oral Presentation – 2 minutes or longer
3) Bonus points for dressing in costume that represents the area.

We will visit the computer lab as a class for research on Wednesday, April 30th. You will be responsible for getting further information outside of class.
